Sidemen Impostor

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about Sidemen Guess The Impostor — how the daily rotation works, how progress is stored, where the data comes from, and how to report problems. Can't find what you're after? Get in touch.

How often does the daily impostor change?

Once a day, at midnight UTC. Both Classic and Quote modes rotate at the same moment. Unlimited mode doesn't rotate — each round picks its own fresh impostor.

Why doesn't the countdown match my local midnight?

The game rotates on a fixed worldwide clock (midnight UTC) so every player gets the same daily impostor regardless of where they live. The countdown shown after a round counts down to that UTC moment, which may be hours earlier or later than your local midnight depending on your timezone.

Will my streak sync between devices?

No. Streaks and game progress are stored in your browser's local storage, on the device you're using. Switching to a different browser, a different device, or clearing site data will start you with a fresh streak. This also means the game works perfectly without an account.

Is this site affiliated with The Sidemen or InnerSloth?

No. Sidemen Guess The Impostor is an unofficial, fan-built project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Sidemen, InnerSloth (the makers of Among Us), or any of the guest creators featured. All character names, likenesses, and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.

Where do the character images come from?

Portraits are low-resolution screenshots from publicly available Sidemen Among Us videos, used purely for identification within a non-commercial fan-tribute context. If you're a rights holder and would like an image removed, contact us and we'll take it down promptly.

I spotted a missing character / a wrong stat / a broken quote. What now?

Please reach out — fan reports are how the data stays accurate. Email is the fastest channel. Include the character's name and what's wrong, and it'll be queued for the next update.

Why are there ads?

Hosting, image bandwidth, and the domain all cost money. The site runs a small number of display ads and accepts optional donations through Patreon for exactly one reason: to keep the game free for everyone. No mode is paywalled, no data is sold, and the site doesn't require an account.

Does the site track me?

Only the basics. Anonymous analytics (Google Analytics, Vercel Analytics) count visits and help spot bugs. Display ads use third-party cookies as detailed in our privacy policy. The game itself doesn't collect any personal data — it has no login and no profile system.

I lost my streak — can it be restored?

Unfortunately not. Streaks live in your browser's local storage with no server-side backup, so once cleared, they're gone. That's the trade-off for a no-account, fully client-side game. Unlimited mode is the place to rebuild confidence without daily pressure.
